Honorary mention of the project "Make your Own" in the E-volution Awards 2012

The E-volution Awards 2012 ceremony took place on Monday, December 19th in the Onassis Cultural Center, in an especially festive and cheerful atmosphere. The E-volution Awards aim to promote and highlight best practices in digital business.

The project "Make you own", developed by Point Blank for the home appliances company Pitsos, received an honorary mention in the category Social Media and Interactive Marketing. The project involved the implementation of an online contest in the Facebook platform where participants had a chance to win a modern PITSOS refrigerator with their personalized image printed on the facade. 

Nominees of this year's awards include the companies Plaisio Computers, Public World, Multirama, Eurobank EFG, Winbank (Piraeus Bank), Golden Deal, Airtickets, travelplanet24 and others. The awards ceremony was carried out by market leaders, presidents of institutions and enterprises as well as political representatives. The jury was composed of experts in the field, including university professors and representatives of relevant institutions. 

During the ceremony, a recent study was presented reporting on the state of digital business in Greece in 2011, as well as the behaviour patterns of online consumers. The general conclusion of the study is exceptionally optimistic as the online presence of businesses in Greece is expanding, while consumers increasingly place their trust on e-commerce for their purchases. In greater detail, a yearly increase of 30% by Greek online consumers has been observed during the last years, reaching a median yearly budget of 1.150 euros per person, corresponding closely with the european average. It is worth mentioning that two thirds of the sales were transacted in Greek sites.
