Project
The social networking platform Taxlinked.net connects professionals in the tax, law and finance sectors around the planet. It provides an authoritative source of information on tax, legal and related professional issues.
We designed and developed the new platform for Taxlinked based on Drupal 8, aiming to create a modern and usable tool for information and networking for the target users and platform administrators.
Networking
One of the main objectives of the platform is the exchange of information among experts located around the planet. For that purpose we designed the forum functionality to allow for the dissemination of tips and ideas, facilitating the exchange of opinions and providing a welcoming space for discussions. Users can connect to each other via the Connections and Inbox, creating productive relationships among the 2000+ registered community members and their related companies and organisations.
Enterprise
The platform offers additional benefits to large companies or professional associations. The enterprise subscription tiers in Taxlinked offer a centralised management and administration of companies and associated member accounts. Moreover, a special subscription tier allows for a private discussion forum alongside the community forums.
Resources & Events
Providing useful and relevant information to the users is the primary goal of the platform. To serve this need, we designed and developed the Resources section allowing users to upload and browse through a series of publications, media and ebooks. In parallel, we developed the events section that keeps the users up to date with events and conferences on the platform's main topics, as well as the webinars section, providing training services to the community members.

Design
We focused on a clean and simple design of the user interface with emphasis on legible typography. Our goal was to simplify the application's multiple functionalities and making it easier for the user to navigate to what they care about the most.
Technology
We developed the platform on Drupal 8, making use of the CMS's capabilities to produce complex and demanding web applications catering to thousands of users. We also migrated all users, user content and connections from the legacy Kentiko-based system, as well as bridging Drupal with third-party services for marketing and user management (Mailchimp, Freshsales).
